The reaction of N-(4-acetylphenyl)benzene sulphonamide derivatives 3a and 3b with N,N dimethyl formamide dimethyl acetal (DMF-DMA) afford acryloyl(phenyl)benzenesulfonamide derivatives 4a and 4b; respectively. The chemical reactivity of enaminonitriles 4a and 4b towards hydrazine hydrate or hydroxylamine was studied for synthesizing of pyrazolyl and isoxazolyl-phenyl benzenesulfonamide derivatives 5a,b and 6a,b; respectively. Also, the treatment of enaminonitriles 4a and 4b with thiosemicarbazide or heterocyclic amines derivatives afford the novel sulfonamide derivatives. Furthermore, the reactivity of acetylsulfonamide derivatives towards nitrogen nucleophiles and dimedone afforded novel benzene sulfonamide compounds. Some of the synthesized chlorinated compounds exhibited excellent in vitro antitumor activity against HepG2 and MCF-7 cell lines. Additionally, further studies were carried out on one of the most effective compounds, 4-chloro-N-(4-(isoxazole-3-yl)phenyl) benzenesulfonamide 6a (ISP), to evaluate its potential interaction against KSHV thymidylate synthase complex. The comprehensive theoretical and experimental mechanical studies of compound 6a (ISP) were compatible with elemental analysis, FTIR, H-1 NMR and MS spectral data. The optimized molecular structure and the harmonic vibrational frequencies were examined via Density functional theory (DFT)/B3LYP/6-31G(d) and Hartree-Fock HF/6-31G(d) energies. Efficient and regioselective on-water synthesis of variously substituted 5-amino-4,7-dihydropyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-6-carbonitriles and 5-amino-4,7-dihydro[1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-6-carbonitriles using 1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene as catalyst has been demonstrated. The reaction of 2-benzylidenemalononitriles and 3-aryl-1H-pyrazol-5-amines or 1H-1,2,4-triazol-5-amine allows to obtain the respective pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidines and [1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidines in high yields up to 93%. Main advantages of the developed synthetic protocol are application of water as environmentally friendly solvent, short reaction times, simple workup procedure that often does not require further purification of products, and broad substrate scope.

For the first time, the coordination-based energy sacrificial bonds have been constructed in the interface between lignin and polyolefin elastomer for preparing a new class of high performance thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) with biomass lignin as the hard plastic phase. The coordination bonds not only promoted the dispersion of lignin, but also improved the interfacial interactions between lignin and polyolefin elastomer matrix, and also facilitated the orientation of chain segments during stretching. The synergistic coordination effect of lignin promoted higher energy dissipation, leading to simultaneously enhanced strength and toughness of lignin-based TPEs even with the lignin loading as high as 30 wt %. The lignin-based TPEs also exhibited excellent shape memory performance. Our strategy offers a promising methodology for the facile production of high performance but cost-effective TPE materials using biorenewable resources as plastic phase.

Intracerebroventricular (icv) injection of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), a reactive oxygen species, or the blockade of catalase (enzyme that degrades H2O2 into H2O and O-2) with icv injection of 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole (ATZ) reduces the pressor effects of angiotensin II also injected icv. In the present study, we investigated the effects of ATZ injected icv or intravenously (iv) on the pressor responses induced by icv injections of the cholinergic agonist carbachol, which similar to angiotensin II induces pressor responses that depend on sympathoexcitation and vasopressin release. In addition, the effects of H2O2 icv on the pressor responses to icv carbachol were also tested to compare with the effects of ATZ. Normotensive non-anesthetized male Holtzman rats (280-300 g, n = 8-9/group) with stainless steel cannulas implanted in the lateral ventricle were used. Previous injection of ATZ (5 nmol/1 mu l) or H2O2 (5 mu mol/1 mu l) icv similarly reduced the pressor responses induced by carbachol (4 nmol/1 mu l) injected icv (13 +/- 4 and 12 +/- 4 mmHg, respectively, vs. vehicle + carbachol: 30 +/- 5 mmHg). ATZ (3.6 mmol/kg of body weight) injected iv also reduced icv carbachol-induced pressor responses (21 +/- 2 mmHg). ATZ icv or iv and H2O2 icv injected alone produced no effect on baseline arterial pressure. The treatments also produced no significant change of heart rate. The results show that ATZ icv or iv reduced the pressor responses to icv carbachol, suggesting that endogenous H2O2 acting centrally inhibits the pressor mechanisms (sympathoactivation and/or vasopressin release) activated by central cholinergic stimulation.

Herein, perylene diimide (PDI)/oxygen-doped g-C3N4 nanosheets (O-CN) n-n heterojunction photocatalyst was prepared by an in-situ electrostatic assembling. The pi-pi interaction between self-assembled PDI and O-CN could lead to the electron delocalization effect to facilitate the electron migration. Self-assembled PDI could broaden the visible response range of O-CN to produce more photogenerated carries. Moreover, the interlaced band structures of O-CN and self-assembled PDI could result in a built-in electric field to promote the interfacial charge separation. Besides, many active species (h(+), O-center dot(2-) and O-1(2) ) could be accumulated to improve the oxidation ability of PDI/O-CN. Therefore, PDI/O-CN exhibited enhanced visible photocatalytic oxidation activities towards disinfection, degradation and oxygen evolution. The optimum PDI/O-CN inactivated 96.6% of Staphylococcus aureus cells within 3 h, while O-CN only killed 62.2%. Additionally, the phenol degradation rate and evolved oxygen amount in 2 h of PDI/O-CN-40% were 3.6 and 1.8 times as high as those of O-CN, respectively.

The current work reports the synthesis of two new triazolopyrimidine derivatives from 3-aminotriazole and ethyl 3-phenylglycidate. The two new compounds were characterized using IR spectra, UV-vis spectra, NMR (H-1 and C-13), thermal analyses (TGA and DTA) and finally the structure of one was confirmed by X-ray diffraction studies. Due to the disadvantages of lower tensile strength and fracture toughness, the widely application of Ethylene-propylene-diene-monomer rubber (EPDM) has been limited. In this study, a thermally reversible healing EPDM based elastomer with H-bonding and Zn-based-bonding dynamic cross-link network was prepared. The influence of mole ratio of ATA/MAH on tensile strength and fracture energy of mEPDM(0)-xATA was investigated. The results showed that increasing the content of ATA brings about a gradual improvement in tensile strength of the mEPDM(0)-xATA. Especially when the mole ratio of ATA/MAH is 1, the fracture energy of mEPDM(0)-ATA is dramatically enhanced to 33.9 MJ/m(3), which is best among the ratios studied in our research. After curing, the effect of ZnCl(2)content on tensile strength and fracture energy of mEPDM-ATA-nZn was also studied. Meanwhile, the uniaxial cyclic loading-unloading tensile test was used to study the viscous damping properties of mEPDM-ATA-0.4Zn, which showed reversible repair properties after heat treatment. The results of dynamic rheological measurement showed that the damping properties were improved.

In current study, a new DABCO based tetra cationic ionic liquid, formulated as [C-4(H-DABCO)(2)][HSO4](4) is easily prepared and characterized using FT-IR, H-1 NMR,C-13 NMR, TGA, and DTG analysis, and also pH-metric titration method. In continue, the efficiency of the prepared catalyst in the acceleration of the synthesis of 2H-indazolo[2,1-b]phthalazine-trione and [1,2,4]triazoloquinazolinone derivatives, is investigated. Simple experimental procedure, using available and low-cost starting materials for the preparation of the catalyst, reusability of the catalyst, isolation of products without using chromatographic methods, short reaction times, high isolated yields, and solvent-free conditions are the most important features of the present method. Heteroatom-doped ordered mesoporous carbons (OMCs) have currently been considered as promising electrode materials for electrochemical sensors due to the combined advantages of ordered mesoporous materials and heteroatom-doped carbon materials. Herein, a novel nitrogen and sulfur co-doped OMCs (N,S-OMC) has been prepared via a nanocasting strategy with an inexpensive methylene blue as single precursor. The obtained mesoporous carbon has platelet morphology, short mesoporous channel together with a large surface area (549 m(2)/g) as well as rich N- and S-containing functional groups (6.8 at.% N and 2.3 at.% S). Compared with the graphene (GR) and carbon nanotube (CNT) electrode material, the N,S-OMC exhibited a higher electrochemical activity towards the oxidation of herbicide amitrole, ascribable to N,S-OMC’s open mesoporous structures and abundant electroactive defect sites on the carbon skeleton. And, an amitrole electrochemical sensor with N,S-OMC modified electrode as working electrode was fabricated, exhibiting a good selectivity, stability, reproducibility and wide linear range of 3-750 mu M. Moreover, the N,S-OMC-based electrochemical sensor was proved feasible in river water sample analyses, showing a satisfied recovery ranging from 97.03% to 105.42%. The results not only demonstrate cheap methylene blue can be used as single precursor for the N,S-OMC preparation, but also confirm the N,S-OMC is promising in amitrole sensor fabrication.

Despite the richness of data collected on pesticide concentrations in ambient air in France, knowledge on this topic remains partial and heterogeneous in the absence of specific regulations. The population exposure remains thus difficult to estimate; therefore it was necessary to define modalities for implementing national monitoring of pesticides in ambient air in metropolitan France and in the overseas territories. The objective of this work was to identify which active substances (a.s.) have to be monitored in priority. As part of a collective expertise, a group of multidisciplinary experts has developed a method to rank active substances authorised as plant protection products, biocides and antiparasitic agents, which were available on the French market in 2015. A 3-steps approach has been developed. The first step consisted of a theoretical approach based on a hierarchy of substances according to four criteria: (a) national uses, (b) emission potential to the air, (c) persistence in the air, and (d) chronic toxicity. The three first criteria give information on their potential to be present in the atmosphere, and the fourth criterion allows to consider their potential of hazard. The second step was an observational approach based on existing database on pesticide air measurements in France. In the third step, both approaches were combined using decision trees to select priority pesticides. Among the 1316 a.s. first identified from the EU Pesticides database, 90 were selected, among which 43 required metrological and/or analytical development. The experts recommended confirming the relevance of performing a longer term monitoring of these a.s. after a one-year exploratory campaign. The proposed method is reproduceable, transparent, easy to update (e.g. in the light of a change in product authorization), and can be adapted to other agricultural and geographical conditions, and objectives (e.g. monitoring of the ecotoxicological effects of pesticides).
