Fractions containing the desired compound were evaporated to dryness to afford the title compound (110 mg, 48.9 percent) as a white solid.1H NMR (700.03 MHz, DMSO-d6) delta 0.85-0.90 (2H, m), 0.93-0.98 (2H, m), 2.06-2.10 (1H, m), 3.98 (2H, s), 6.16 (2H, br s), 7.15-7.21 (2H, m), 7.27-7.29 (2H, m), 12.17 (1H, br s) m/z (ES) (M+H)+ = 316.

Appl., 2008098104) in dry tetrahydrofuran (400 mL) at -55 C. The resulting off-white slurry was stirred at -45 C. for 20 minutes, whereupon a solution of 2,6-dimethyl-pyridine-3-carbaldehyde (8.33 g, 61.7 mmol) in dry tetrahydrofuran (10 mL) was added dropwise by syringe. After 5 minutes, the cooling bath was removed and the reaction mixture was allowed to slowly warm. After 45 minutes, saturated aqueous ammonium chloride solution (10 mL) and ethyl acetate (100 mL) were added. The mixture was concentrated by rotary evaporation. The residue was dissolved in ethyl acetate (300 mL). The organic solution was washed with saturated aqueous sodium chloride solution (100 mL, containing excess solid sodium chloride). The aqueous layer was extracted with ethyl acetate (2*100 mL). The organic layers were combined and the combined solution was concentrated. Ether (100 mL) was added to the residue and the mixture was sonicated for 20 minutes during which time a white solid crashed out. The solids were collected by filtration. Ether (100 mL) was added to the collected solids and the mixture sonicated a second time. After 20 minutes, the mixture was filtered and the solids were collected to provide the title compound as a fine powder.

Aqueous layer and Ethyl acetate layer were separated and Ethyl acetate layer was washed with brine solution. The resultant crude was treated with Isopropyl alcohol (10 lit) and heated to 75-80C, maintained for material dissolved and treated with activated Carbon (0.05 kg) and maintained for 1 hr. The material was filtered through the Hyflow bed and washed with Isopropyl alcohol (1 lit). The resultant mass was cooled to room temperature, maintained for 2 hrs, filtered the solid and washed with Isopropyl alcohol (1 lit). Yield: 1.3Kg; HPLC: 98.6%.

PREPARATION 20 o CF3SO3Si(CH2CH3)3 0^Nv Jl 2,6-lutdine ^Nv Jl f /T NH2 *- f /r VSi(CH2CH3)3HN-N HN-N H1 ,2-dichloroethane500C N-(triethylsilyl)-7H-l,2,4-triazole-3-carboxamideA stirred mixture of l//-l,2,4-triazole-3-carboxamide (500 mg, 4.46 mmol) in 1,2-dichloroethane (4.46 mL) treated at room temperature with 2,6-lutidine (2.08 mL, 17.84 mmol) and triethylsilyl trifluoromethanesulfonate (3.03 mL, 13.38 mmol) and heated under a nitrogen atmosphere at 5O0C. After 4 hours of heating the reaction solution allowed to cool to room temperature and diluted with dichloromethane (25 mL), washed with water (25 mL), 0.5M hydrochloric acid (25 mL), water (25 mL), dried over MgSO4, filtered, and evaporated to solid. The solid was flash chromatographed (silica gel, 10-65% ethyl acetate:hexane) to give the product as a white solid (683 mg).1H NMR (CDCl3, 500MHz, ppm) 0.89 (q, J=8Hz, 6H, CH2), 1.03 (t, j=8 Hz, 9H, CH3), 6.77 (s, IH, NH), 8.63 (s, IH, triazole H-5).LC/MS m/z (positive ion scan) M+l= 227.20
