The reaction mixture was cooled to RT, and concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified by flash column chromatography over silica gel (eluent: EtOAc/ heptane from 10/90 to 60/40) to yield 3, 5-dibromo-l-(2-tetrahydropyran-2-yloxyethyl)-l, 2, 4-triazole (12.08 g, 33.7 mmol, 70% yield) as a light yellow oil. MS (ES+) m/z 356.0 [(M+H)+],
