The organics were dried (MgSO4) and concentrated under reduced pressure. The crude residue in was dissolved in DCM and applied to a 12 g silica cartridge eluting with 0-100% EtOAc/iso-hexane. The product fractions were concentrated to give tert-butyl 4-(2-(N-methyl-1H-1,2,3-triazole-4-carboxamido)ethyl)piperidine-1-carboxylate as a gum.
